SHOT Show: The Annual 2A Gathering

It's SHOT Show season, once again! The ultimate “Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade” show, held in the sparkling city (and new home of The Musa Store) of Las Vegas, is the annual event for gun-slingers hosted by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

This annual 2nd Amendment homage brings together the biggest and best players in the industry from all around the globe…although this year it seems to be missing some major players, but that drama is for another day, and another blog.

But SHOT Show wasn't always the massive event it is today. The first show was held way back in 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri, with just over 200 exhibitors and 5,000 attendees. Since then, it's grown significantly, moving to larger venues on the east coast, and attracting more and more industry professionals each year. Now, with over 2,400 exhibitors and more than 65,000 attendees, SHOT Show lights-up “sin city” and is the biggest and best trade show of its kind in the world.

So what's the purpose of SHOT Show?

It's simple really – provide a platform for companies in the shooting, hunting, and outdoor industry to showcase their products and services to buyers, distributors, and media. It's an opportunity for industry professionals across the gun community to network, make new connections, and conduct business.

Another benefit is that it allows companies to reach a large and diverse audience in one place, making it an efficient and cost-effective way to promote their products and services. The hallways of the convention center are full of 2A patriots. It’s also an opportunity for companies to get feedback on their products from industry professionals and make necessary improvements.

They have educational seminars for nearly every aspect of the business, product demonstrations from companies large and small, and other epic events and activities.

SHOT Show also has a charitable component. The NSSF, the organization behind the show, donates a portion of the proceeds to organizations that support and promote the shooting sports, conservation, and other related causes.
